Salt Light & The Harvest

Bible Doctrine Home  Our Beliefs  Bible Questions Bible Studies Bible Photos Contact Us True Testimony Salt, Light, and The Harvest Dealing With Sin Counting The Cost Prayer Whats New Day of YHWH (the LORD) The Truth About Easter

Although the harvest is mentioned last in this study's title, we will be discussing it first.

Matthew 9:37,38

verse  37  Then saith He unto His disciples, "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

verse  38   Pray ye therefore the Master (Lord) of the harvest, that He will send fourth labourers into His harvest."

With over six billion people in the world at this time, this scripture is all too true. In what ever way we can, we should do our best to answer our Lord's call for more labourers. You don't have to be a pastor to do it. You can do it by just sharing the Gospel with people that you come in contact with in your everyday life and planting seeds. (Be sure to use good discernment when doing this)

John 21:15-17

verse  15  So when they had dined, Yahushua (Jesus) saith to Simon Peter, " Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me more than these?" He saith unto Him "Yea Master (Lord); Thou knowest that I love Thee." He saith unto him, " Feed My lambs."

verse  16  He saith to him again the second time, " Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me?" He saith unto Him, " Yea Master (Lord); Thou knowest that I love Thee." Yahushua (Jesus) saith unto him, " Feed My sheep."

verse  17  He saith unto him the third time, "Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou Me?" Peter was grieved because He said unto him the third time, " Lovest thou Me?" And he said unto Him, " Master (Lord), Thou knowest all things; Thou knowest that I love Thee."  Yahushua (Jesus) saith unto him, " Feed My sheep."

Yahushua (Jesus) asked this question three times for emphasis. He also give the same command after Peter's answer each of the three times. The feeding of His sheep should be a pastor's main focus. However, more and more these days  it seems not to the case. Many of our Master's sheep in this generation are famine stricken,  malnourished, infected with false doctrine and are starving for the Word of Elohim (God). This website is my small way of being obedient to His command to feed His sheep, and demonstrating my love for Him.

Matthew 5:11-16

verse  11  Blessed  are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you falsely, for My sake.

verse  12  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

As servants of Elohim (God), we will suffer persecution. Not only from the world, but also from our brothers and sisters that have been misled by false doctrine. This is no big problem for us, because we can handle it in Messiah (Christ). Yahushua (Jesus) Himself was persecuted until death, so as servants of his, we shouldn't expect to always be welcomed with open arms.

verse  13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

As believers we are expected to make a difference. Salt makes a difference in any food that it's put into. If there is salt in it you'll taste it. Believers should make a difference in this place. We can't change the world, but we can help to change our immediate surroundings.

verse  14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

verse  15  Neither do men light a lamp, and put it under a bushel (measuring basket), but on a lampstand; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

verse  16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Which is in heaven.

Messiah (Christ) within us should shine forth in our daily lives. This isn't the kind of light that just turns on for a couple of hours during church and then is gone.

We are to be a witness to the world that Yahushua (Jesus) Lives and that our Belief is a reality and not just a religion.

Let's study about the of The Light that dwells in us.

John 3:16-21

verse  16  For Elohim (God) so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

verse  17  For Elohim (God) sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

verse  18  He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of Elohim (God).

verse  19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness because their deeds were evil.

verse  20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Beware of any teacher that does not hold the Bible alone as the sole authority of what is true or false. We may use history and archeology for research purposes, but the Bible always has the final say in any matter. Yahushua (Jesus) is The Living enbodiment of the Word. So it is no wonder that  false teachers don't seem to spend much time teaching directly from the written Word of Elohim (God) itself.

verse  21 in conclusion  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in Elohim (God).

Wrought in Elohim (God) means- done with  great respect for His power. This is how we servants of YHWH (the LORD) should serve our Father. When the Bible speaks of us fearing YHWH (the LORD), the word fear means reverence. In other words we are to respect our Father to the highest degree. If we serve Him in spirit and in truth, we have no need to be scared of our Father. The only ones that should be scared of Him are His enemies. But we should respect Him greatly, while at the same time knowing that He loves us.
